• Fixed: "Free up … now" after moving items to Trash didn't respond. It now asks to confirm, then deletes them for good.

• A new Review plan button beside Move to Trash opens your Cleanup plan, so you can check everything you've ticked, grouped by what removing it means, before it goes.

• Moving lots of items to Trash, or deleting them permanently, now shows a progress bar, and each item's row updates as it goes.
• Messages at the top of the window close by themselves after a few seconds. You can still close them straight away with ✕.

• By app. Everything each app uses in one place: the app, its caches, its data and what it leaves behind, sorted into Safe to clear, Your call and Keep.
• Faster scans. About four times faster: 2.8 million files in about 25 seconds on our Mac, down from 104. Results fill in while it scans.
• Fewer mystery folders. Folders from coding and AI tools, like Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and VS Code, and macOS's own data now have plain names and a note on whether to keep them. On our Mac, Unclassified went from 27.6 GB to about 2 GB.
• Select safe items now opens a review of everything apps and tools rebuild, with what clearing each one costs, before anything is ticked.
• Old downloads. Files in Downloads you haven't touched in six months, shown as thumbnails.
• Free space in the menu bar, a 30-day free space chart in History, and an optional alert when free space drops fast.
• Deactivating a Mac now frees its place among your key's 10 Macs.
• Only folders Macaroom really couldn't read count as skipped, so a scan with Full Disk Access no longer says it's partial because of shortcuts or files that vanished mid-scan.

• Fixed: a scan could stop moving on some Macs, and Stop & show results didn't respond. Stop now always works and shows everything found so far.
• Files that live only in iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox are skipped instead of making macOS download them during a scan.
• If macOS keeps a scan waiting on a folder, Macaroom now says which one.

• Fixed: on some Macs, Macaroom kept asking for Full Disk Access after you'd switched it on. It now checks properly.
• After you switch on Full Disk Access and macOS reopens Macaroom, the scan now carries on by itself.
• Rescan now checks Full Disk Access too, and if you choose to scan without it, Macaroom stops asking.

• Settings now says exactly what Macaroom sends over the internet: the update check and, about once a week when you're online, the license check.

• License keys. Your key appears straight after checkout and by email; paste it into Macaroom once on each Mac. One key works on all your Macs.
• The example data works without a key, so you can look around first.
• Lost your key? Get it again at getmacaroom.com/download.

• Updates now download in the background and install the next time Macaroom quits. The download button beside Settings installs one straight away. You can turn this off in Settings.
• Fixed: Install and Relaunch, and quitting, did nothing while Settings or another panel was open.

• Splits System Data and the rest of your disk into around 30 named sources, grouped by what's safe to clear.
• Explains what each source is and what happens if you clear it.
• Worth a look: compares each scan with the last one, so you see what grew and roughly when the disk will be full.
• Untouched projects: finds node_modules, Rust target, Swift .build, Python venvs, Gradle, CocoaPods, Next.js and Xcode build data in projects you haven't changed in months.
• Moves what you choose to the Trash, with one-click restore, and can delete just those items for good.
• A menu bar panel, an optional weekly check and a low space alert.
• Updates itself. Runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 14 or later.
